How it works

AlorairGarage is a ceiling-mounted, electric garage heater with enough power to heat garages and indoor spaces up to 3,000 square feet. It is a 110 / 120V, 65-80W heater with a maximum heat output of 100,000 BTU.

Read on to find out how this electric garage heater works.

How does a hydronic heater or hot-water heater work?

A hydronic heater relies on hot water from a building’s existing boiler system to heat up a room. It uses electricity to power a heat exchanger, which facilitates the transfer of heat from the hot water to a radiator, fan heater, or underfloor heating system.

For AlorairGarage, hydronic heating is made possible through convection. As hot water from the boiler flows into the heater, it heats the copper coils of the heat exchanger. This, in turn, warms the air that enters the heater through the rear filter. A built-in centrifugal blower pushes the heated air out of the heater through the louver deflectors in front of the unit.

Step 01

Heating with a hydronic heater starts with hot water flowing into the hydronic heater and raising the temperature of the heat transfer coils.

AlorairGarage uses HydroX50/50A and HydroX100/100A. These are finned heat transfer coils with superior thermal conductivity.

Step 02

When the unit is switched on, it draws cold air through the filter at the back of the unit.

AlorairGarage’s filters are removable, washable, and reusable.

Step 03

The cold air circulates inside the heater. It heats up as it passes through the hot fins of the heat transfer coil.

The HydroX H50/H50A and HydroX H100/H100A heats air in as quickly as 3 seconds.

Step 04

A built-in fan blows the hot air out of the unit to heat the garage or room beyond.

AlorairGarage uses a low-noise centrifugal blower with two speeds and clocking in at a low 55-60 dBA.

Three Heating Methods in One

AlorairGarage combines three types of heating methods to deliver a top-notch performance.

Hydronic Heating

Optimizes heat energy from hot water drawn from a boiler system.

Convection Heating

Uses a heat exchanger to transfer heat from the hot water to the air inside the garage.

Fan Heating

Uses a powerful blower to disperse warm air and heat up your garage.

Reliable and affordable heating wherever you need it.
