How does a hydronic heater or hot-water heater work?
A hydronic heater relies on hot water from a building’s existing boiler system to heat up a room. It uses electricity to power a heat exchanger, which facilitates the transfer of heat from the hot water to a radiator, fan heater, or underfloor heating system.Â

Step 01
Heating with a hydronic heater starts with hot water flowing into the hydronic heater and raising the temperature of the heat transfer coils.Â
AlorairGarage uses HydroX–50/50A and HydroX–100/100A. These are finned heat transfer coils with superior thermal conductivity.Â
Step 02
When the unit is switched on, it draws cold air through the filter at the back of the unit.Â
AlorairGarage’s filters are removable, washable, and reusable.Â
Step 03
The cold air circulates inside the heater. It heats up as it passes through the hot fins of the heat transfer coil.Â
The HydroX H50/H50A and HydroX H100/H100A heats air in as quickly as 3 seconds.
Step 04
A built-in fan blows the hot air out of the unit to heat the garage or room beyond.Â
AlorairGarage uses a low-noise centrifugal blower with two speeds and clocking in at a low 55-60 dBA.
